REAL ESTATE FUND AND CORPORATE ATTORNEY
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Stoneweg US, one of the nation’s fastest growing multifamily real estate investment and development companies, is currently seeking to hire an attorney with 4-9 years of experience in real estate funds and corporate transactions. Stoneweg US serves as exclusive investment manager of Varia US Properties AG, a Swiss, publicly traded real estate fund (SIX Swiss Exchange ticker: VARN) and also partners with US and international equity investors to acquire and develop multifamily assets in markets with strong population growth and positive trending economic conditions. The Stoneweg US team challenges the conventions of real estate investment through a research-driven, results-oriented approach that has led to the successful deployment of over $500 million of equity and the acquisition of over 18,500 multifamily units since 2016. The Company plans to remain focused on this aggressive growth strategy for 2022 and beyond.
POSITION:
Based in the Tampa Bay region, the Real Estate Fund and Corporate Attorney will be part of a dynamic and growing business environment. The position will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and will support all aspects of the business, including real estate fund formation and structuring, joint venture agreements, financing, corporate and compliance. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, motivated self-starter with a hands-on approach. This person will be results-oriented and able to excel in a fast-paced environment that requires one to be able to adjust to shifting priorities in order to accomplish multiple tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Real Estate Fund and Corporate Attorney will provide oversight of and/or directly participate in:

All real estate fund formation, structuring, fund management and corporate matters, including joint ventures, financings, contracts and corporate agreements.

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating real estate fund and collateral documents, financing documents and joint venture agreements.

Conducting real estate fund closings and addressing closing-related issues.

Resolving matters related to limited partnership and limited liability company organizational governance and documentation.

Assisting the Chief Legal Officer in all compliance efforts to ensure the organization meets and maintains compliance and legal objectives.

Identifying and managing internal and outside legal resources as required to provide high-quality legal services at a reasonable cost.

Working with and responding to questions on legal matters from other Company departments, including investor relations, finance and human resources.

Developing and implementing legal policies, processes and forms to assist in maximizing speed and efficiency of the legal department.
REQUIREMENTS:

Approximately 4-9 years in private law practice or in-house, preferably with foundational training from a top-tier law firm in commercial real estate, real estate funds, corporate and financing matters.

Membership in good standing to The Florida Bar or the ability to register as an “authorized house counsel” pursuant to applicable Florida rules.

Undergraduate degree from a well-known university/college combined with a J.D. from a highly respected law school.

High degree of agility, flexibility and an ability to accept a challenge and produce timely, high-quality work in an intense, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Ability to perform and prioritize multiple assignments without immediate supervision.

Strong interpersonal, time management, organizational, and strategic planning skills.

Comfort coordinating and managing outside counsel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with and provide counsel to the Company’s executive team and other members of the organization.

Team player with the ability to work independently and function in a support role.

Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
